GDI University Rankings (2022) released
On May 18th, GDI University Rankings (2022) was officially released, which is one of the annual university rankings of Guangzhou Daily Data and Digitalization Research Institute (GDI think tank).
GDI University Rankings (2022) evaluates 1,207 undergraduate colleges (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, art and military colleges, and the universities of Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Social Sciences have not been included in the rankings yet), and simultaneously launches the GDI University Rankings (2022)-the main list, and several parallel lists such as medicine, finance, politics and law, language, nationality, sports and cooperative education.
On April 25th, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader made an investigation in Renmin University of China, stressing that China has a unique history, unique culture and unique national conditions. To build a world-class university with China characteristics, we should not follow others and simply take foreign universities as the standard and model, but take root in China and embark on a new road to build a world-class university with China characteristics.
GDI University Rankings has always been committed to building an evaluation system for universities with China characteristics, actively participating in the formulation of university evaluation indicators, and helping higher education to evaluate China’s right to speak and establish the "China standard".

Highlight classified evaluation,Refuse to "measure the world with a ruler"
In September, 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era, which explicitly requested to promote the classified evaluation of colleges and universities, guide the scientific orientation of different types of colleges and universities, and make them unique and level.
GDI University Rankings (2022) evaluates universities of medicine, finance and economics, politics and law, language, nationality, sports and cooperation in running schools separately, aiming at better examining the development characteristics of universities through classified evaluation and accurate evaluation, guiding and encouraging all kinds of universities to develop their strengths in different fields, and supporting and encouraging the characteristic development of universities.

A major feature of GDI University Rankings (2022) is that it emphasizes the use of the average value of university-running data rather than the total amount, and pays attention to the evaluation of connotative development and "development process" to avoid the misunderstanding of scale and quantity.
The GDI University Ranking Development Team believes that the success of a university does not depend on its scale, but on its own characteristics, forming its own school-running philosophy and style.
Pay attention to multi-evaluation and adopt multi-dimensional methods
GDI University Rankings (2022) not only pays attention to quantitative indicators, but also gives consideration to non-quantitative indicators, makes full use of expert fusion evaluation method based on quantitative data and objective evidence, and insists on the combination of expert evaluation of representative achievements and quantitative evaluation of high-level school-running achievements, so as to promote the development of universities from quantitative comparison to connotation.
Focus on moral education and strengthen the position of talent training center
On May 2, 2018, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader stressed during his inspection tour in Peking University that we should take the effect of moral education as the fundamental criterion to test all the work of the school, truly cultivate people with culture and moral education, constantly improve students’ ideological level, political consciousness, moral quality and cultural accomplishment, and achieve great morality, public morality and strict personal morality. It is necessary to internalize moral education into all fields, aspects and links of university construction and management, with moral education as the foundation and moral education as the core.
GDI University Rankings (2022) highlights the central position of talent training and attaches importance to the quality evaluation of teachers. At the same time, teachers’ morality and style are regarded as the first criterion to evaluate teachers, so as to promote the unity of teachers’ morality and teachers’ ability.

Tsinghua University, Peking University and Nanjing universities are among the top 500 in the "GDI University Rankings (2022)-Main Rankings", Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiaotong University rank fourth and fifth, and Fudan University, China University of Science and Technology, China Renmin University, Wuhan University and Sun Yat-sen University rank sixth to tenth respectively.
Among the top 100 universities, there are 88 "double-first-class" construction universities, and south university of science and technology of china (39), Shanghai University of Science and Technology (53) and South China Agricultural University (89) are among the top 100 universities in China.
